Kids Love Exercise With Lazy Town Show

Lazy Town came to Paultons Park in Hampshire on a sunny Fathers day afternoon and the kids were ready to have a good time. Some boys in Sportacus outfits and girls in Stephanie pink wigs.

Families with picnics sat on the grass in front of the little theatre staking out a prime position to watch the Lazy Town show and the Kids Shoes 2 U family were there too.

With Lazy Town signature tunes playing, the shutter door opens and Stephanie appears to the delight of the waiting children now crowding around the little fence in front of the stage. Some parents sat nearby beat a retreat from sitting near by as the kids begin to join in the exercise routine as Stephanie was now getting the kids warmed up, if they were not hot enough already.

The sound of an airship overhead, Stephanie asks the kids if they recognise the sound, of course they do and in a flash Sportacus enters cart wheeling across the stage to the delight of the children and a number of the mum’s, I noticed!

Soon Stephanie and Sportacus had all the kids and some reluctant parents exercising and doing dance routines to the music. First teaching the routine in slow time and then bursting into full flow. The kids were having a great time and enjoying every minute of it. Who says kids just spend all day sitting in front of PC’s or games machines turning into couch potatoes.

Sportacus asks the kids if they know what sports candy is and lots of hands zip into the air, broccoli, apples, bananas, carrots and more were announced as Sportacus pointed to each selected child. Blimey, so they really do know what’s good for them too.

Now its competition time and the kids are split into 2 halves, each team has an exercise to copy and performance is rewarded with points. Ballet, skiing, basketball and super hero running all included. Needless to say both teams end up with 90 points and everyone is a winner to the delight of the 2 kid’s teams.

The half hour show is now drawing to a close (was it really half an hour?), Sportacus and Stephanie do a dance routine with some acrobatics and sing to the signature tune and the show comes to an end.

With all the doom and gloom around today the show brought in some fun on a lovely sunny day. It also showed that there are great ways to get kids to exercise, eat healthily and make friends. And before the last song Sportacus was talking to the children and showed them how to be a Super hero and told them ‘no matter what you try, Never Give Up’, something even the parents could go home with.

Also, with so many kids around, time was taken for a little market research and check what the kids were wearing on their feet. Clogs, sandals and trainers seemed to be the order of the day. Noted, and now how do we get all these parents to visit Kids Shoes 2 U and see the great range of boys shoes and girls shoes we have available.
